WASHINGTON
Visa applicants from six Muslim-majority countries must have a close U.S. family relationship or formal ties to a U.S. entity to be admitted to the United States under guidance distributed by the U.S. State Department.
The directive defined close family as a parent, spouse, child, adult son or daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law or sibling, including step-siblings and other step-family relations, according to a cable distributed to all U.S. diplomatic posts on Wednesday and seen by Reuters.
Close family "does not include grandparents, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, fiancés, and any other 'extended' family members," according to the cable, first reported by the Associated Press.
The six nations included in the executive order are Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen.
The travel ban will go into effect at 8 p.m. EDT on Thursday, the cable said.
It was unclear on Wednesday evening whether the State Department's interpretation of the court's order would spark further legal action by opponents of the ban.
"This language is extremely disappointing," said Johnathan Smith, legal director at Muslim Advocates, a civil rights group. "Defining close family to exclude grandparents, cousins, and other relatives defies common sense and directly goes against the intent of the Supreme Court's order."

Proving bloodlines is a whole different ball of wax so I can see why they limited the “relationships”. Eliminates a lot of game playing and the Muzzie favorite....lying.
The left is going to do the exorcist-head-spin-vomit routine regarding this.
This list is really going to PO Democrats and other liberals..
PING
I have my popcorn at the ready.
Got rid of the fiancé visa :)
This is 100% cheese in the maze strategy. These definitions are killer. But what is the media abuzz about today? Tweets about PsychoJoe & Yoko.
Major, major chess being played here. They are totally clueless.
Guidelines defines close family:

It doesnt include:
Grandparents.., grandchildren.., aunts.., uncles.., nieces.., nephews.., cousins.., brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law.., fiancés.., and any other extended family members.
Existing visas will be respected.....
New applicants from the countries must ‘prove ‘ a relationship with a parent, spouse, child, sibling or close in-law already in the U.S
Business or Professional ties from the countries must show a relationship that is formal”, documented.
How many in-laws and cousins does a Muslim with seven wives have?
“Major, major chess being played here. They are totally clueless.”
Exaclty. Joe and Mika are just a diversion.
Muslim families are HUGE to begin with....and many are close relatives that they marry. So they have to cut this close range with the understanding of the very relationship culture of their family relations.
Though I must admit I’d have no problem with a complete Muslim ‘BAN’ from any Muslim country. So the closer we can get to that the happier I am. This isn’t close however.
Let protecting America begin!
let’s get real
here - how many visitors is this really going to restrict ?
How many Somali’s or Sudanese or Libyans come to Florida for a vaca ?
The meat of this is if a terrorist attacks we’ll know who brought him or her into the country. I can see a grandparent bringing a grandson in and not knowing how radical he is so excluding grandparents is a good thing.
Close family “does not include grandparents, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews,”
This is just huge.
>>How many in-laws and cousins does a Muslim with seven wives have?
Given the level of inbreeding in the Muslim world... about 1.2 billion.
US immigration has proven time and again they don't bother checking.
We shouldn’t be allowing any in.
