Modern Turkey was the achievement of a great man - Kemal Ataturk. Erdogan is dismantling all of Ataturks work and returning Turkey to the fold of Muslim ignorance - within a few decades Turkey will be as backward as Pakistan or Saudi Arabia.I'm surprised this was even noted by the news media. Most US and European liberal "promoters of science" seldom if ever complain when Muslims or other non-Western religions/cultures promote Creationism. They seem to believe that religion and superstition are bad when practiced by white westerners but just wonderful otherwise.
