Sounds like a great idea but good luck implementing it and good luck finding the money to pay for it.

Too bad Chicago and Illinois have no plans.
To: BBell
What if they don’t? They’ll make them stay in public-education prison? Don’t we have a Constitutional amendment about involuntary servitude?

The program, set to take take effect in Chicago in 2020, is supposed to get scholars in the citys struggling school system planning for the future early... Well, if it only applies to scholars it should only affect maybe a dozen people......it will be business as usual for the rest of what Chicongo skrewls turn out.

What about the other 35% who drop out before graduating?
Demand proof they have gang affiliation?

Maybe Chicago could open some ballet schools, submarine yards, political youth centers, family awareness camps, farms, and show these yutes how good the government is for them. This is a horrible plan and worse than socialism. This is pure Stalinism. God bless the sane ones in Illinois.

So what if you just want to go and see the world? Write poetry under an oak tree in Colorado? No diploma?

... and good luck finding the money to pay for it.
In the article about the IL senate override of the governor's veto (house is/was pending), somebody said it has a clause in the bill to shaft the schools in the rest of the state to fund CPS.
