A 41-year-old LaPlace man is accused of using gasoline to set fire to his ex-girlfriend's house while her six children were inside. No one was injured, according to the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office.
The woman's children range in age from 1 to 18, authorities said. The man is not related to the children, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Trashy is one thing, but violent crime is another. Are you saying that violent crime is spread out equally among the races in LaPlace?
IF THEY CAN LOCATE THEM,
Turn him over to the sperm donors that contributed to the six kids.
Probably at least 3 and possibly all six.
Of course, if they jail him, my scenario may work out.
Got to quit ‘rewarding’ people for spitting out kids like an assembly line.
Start jailing the ‘fathers’ that don’t directly support their spawn and take the ‘mothers’ off ALL public dole, this crap may slow down.
My husband was murdered by a white woman from LaPlace in 2001. Her whole gutter level family and their friends were indignant she was charged and went to jail, and let me know it. That’s what I thought of when I read the “Amish” comments. The assumption that it was a black perpetrator made me think of my husband’s killer, who is white.
I think geography place a role in assuming the perp is “Amish”; we have white murderers here in NJ, but if the killing occurs in Newark or Paterson then it would be unusual for the killer to be white.
My condolences for your loss.
Thank you. I understand the point you make.
