Since 1980, PETA has made a name for itself as the number-one authority on animal welfare. UK-based YouTube vlogger Calum McSwiggan, however, wants people to consider otherwise, and recently used a scathing Twitter rant to sound off on the organisation’s true colours.
After recent investigations, PETA has come under fire for a lot more than just the scantily clad women they use for marketing. In a March 2017 press release, the Center for Consumer Freedom revealed that PETA euthanized more than 1400 cats and dogs at its Norfolk, Virginia shelter in 2016. PETA defends their actions as ethically and economically necessary, but it’s becoming increasingly clear that their attention-grabbing media presence may be more important to them than the lives of animals.
McSwiggan’s thread, which has now attracted over 6 thousand respective likes and shares, is both shocking and resounding with Twitter users, most of whom had never dared to question PETA before. Follow the entire story below, and weigh in with your views at the end!

They sell the animals to rendering facilities and pocket the money
PETA is to pets what Planned parenthood is to babies.
PETA uses their contributions to lobby for a government mandated vegetarian diet, an end to animal agriculture in all forms, and even an end to pet animals -— trying to define animals as equal to humans with all the same rights, and equating the keeping of pets to slavery. Of course, those things are kept from those “outside” the ranks as much as possible, because knowledge would hurt fundraising. It is much easier to pull money out of pockets with pictures of sick, injured, and starving animals set to sad music -— video made right before they euthanize the animals and check their mailbox for money.
I saw an anti-PETA billboard sign in Times Square, NYC back in 2012.

I have a lot of Navy and govt. contractor buddies in the Hampton Roads area (where PeTA has the animal control contracts)... They have NOTHING nice to say about that organisation. Driving van-loads of dead pets over the NC state line and tossing them in dumpsters, for starters.
There is a place for all of God’s creatures...right next to the mashed potatoes and gravy...

PETA has been doing stupid stuff forever; they tried to get a town in New York to change its name, without even understanding what the name meant:

There ya’ go.
When Katrina was coming, elderly people gave their pets to pETA for safe keeping when the evacuation crews wouldn’t allow pets, and pETA killed them.
Utterly soulless.
If God didn’t want us to eat animals, he wouldn’t have made them out of meat.
There was a wreck recently on Interstate 69 here in Indiana. Cows that were killed and PETA is erecting a poster to “honor” the cows.
The ones who survived are on their way to the slaughterhouse. Irony.
To most people I think PETA is a joke;a bad joke. It’s been that way since it’s inception.
