Bill France Junior destroyed in a few short years what his father worked a lifetime to build when he introduced his form of political correctness into NASCAR.
FYI most nascar stands aint full but Indy i believe has seating for well over 200 thousand folks even tougher
***The stands aren’t even half full...What goes????***
Televising the race has become great entertainment. Full circuit coverage, pit stops, speeds, position etc., in the quiet and comfort of A/C, food and bathrooms;)
You don’t get all of that inside stuff on the track. But it is a great Father/Son experience.
NASCAR's political correctness and diversity outreaches beginning to pay dividends?
You can find stories and pictures from several years ago of lousy attendance at that race.
Bad weather? They are red-flagged now because of a thunderstorm.

Can any of you recall red flag for anticipated weather?
Yeah? I just started watching some paint dry....
Kyle Petty really needs to cut that freaking ponytail what a fruit cup
That’s 175,000 persons. Still the biggest attendance in NASCAR. Also no Jeff Gordon.
Half full at Indy is still 125,000 people. That said the Brickyard is dying. They are moving it to September next year hoping it will make a comeback. I’m a huge Indycar follower and the difference between real racing and the parade that is NASCAR is amazing. I’ve never understood the love of NASCAR racing. A bunch of look a like cars drive around following each other, little passing, mandatory competition stoppages, meh. A couple of years ago they had a tire problem and literally stopped the race every like 15 laps to check tire wear. They should have just called the race and moved on.
I’ve noticed empty seats at a few tracks this year. Maybe the cost of attending. I would be more likely to attend. Get claustrophobic with big crowds.
Indy is designed for open wheel cars not stock cars. The stock cars tended to get strung way out and the skinny “groove” made for no passing and a boring race.
In yesterday’s Indy NASCAR “B” class race they cut 200 HP off the cars and gave them more downforce to tighten up the racing, which it did.
But NASCAR would be better off going somewhere else other than Indy. The Indy race is just dumb. Even the F-1 cars couldn’t attract a crowd.
10 years ago, the waiting list was in years to get a ticket for a Bristol race... they cant even sell it out now.
Cost, I suspect.
not even a thread on FR. 8-o
well, except yours. :-)
Does this race have the little potty breaks, and a chance for everyone to catch up?
Fox is carrying NHRA Drag Racing.
The suit’s haven’t ruined that yet.
Gotta love 10,000HP. Of course that figure the conventional thought since there are no Dyno’s that can handle them.
It’s the cars, they all suck...the “stars” aren’t. Too many laps under caution. At yellow, no racing back to Start/Finish line....and on and on.
Dump a box of Fruit Loops into the toilet and give it a flush. Add in some redneck to announce, and you have a NASCAR race.
$$$ Too pricey for their fan base.
This Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3 format is irritating. You can’t call it a 400 mile race, when it’s three shorter races. They’ve ruined the sport by tampering.
