i watched the Indy 500 since the early 70’s when i was a kid...i finally attended the race in 2015...nothing comes close to attending that race- nothing!

1967 was first visit to Indy 500. All I can say is WOW. That said, NASCAR, of which I’m a diehard fan is on the wane (as is the cuntry as we know it).

What did you love most? The smell, noise, friends, breathing the same air as the racers? All of it?

I do agree with you, being ‘at the game’ is the bigger experience/thrill - but for us geezers - it takes a lot of endurance;)

This year was my 29th race.

The best part is the pre-race Memorial Day tribute and the respect the spectators have for our military men and women.

Loved last years race. The kid was in shock, then tears started to just flow down his cheeks. It was fun to see.
