In 2013, GlaxoSmithKline donated 763 million albendazole tablets for the treatment and prevention of parasitic infections in developing countries, bringing the total to over 4 billion tablets donated since 1998.[24]

Should have bought it in Peru.

“I was obliged to write a check for $649”

You have the affluence to take a vacation to Peru for fun but think $650 is too much to cure severe diarrhea caused by a parasitic infection?

Sounds like the greatest bargain you’ll ever have in your life.

Gosh, if you need more, can you get it from Canada or Mexico, or know someone who could? It’s a crazy system.

When first saw the title I thought it was about the parasites in congress.

Costco is the cheapest - 10 TABS $1,873.92

Try alldaychemist.com it is based in India and we have successfully used them many times. They have Albendazole for sale as Zentel 400mg. Cost 86 cents apiece. Good luck.

We have a bizarre system. The only suggestions I’ve seen so far in this thread are can be summed up as “try and buy it under the table from Mexico or Canada.” Its a sad sign of how beaten-down Americans already are to accept such a system.

Government and progressives get their control, but at the cost of paying off crony-capitalists and insiders to run the racket.

They should all collapse.

By the way, the new Brit guy Sunday nights on Fox, Steve Hilton, has addressed this whole issue of medical costs in America in a multi-part series about “The Medical Swamp.” The snippets I’ve caught have been well done. His theory is an evil Bermuda Triangle basically, between hospital admins, govt, Big Pharma. Everybody else below that loses.

Worth catching it on the Fox website if it’s there.

What you say simply can’t be true. The United States has the best health care system in the world.

NIfster seems to have all the answers about why titanium screws are justifiably priced at $242 each so maybe he has an answer about why this simple but necessary medicine needs to cost 21,000 times more in the United States than anywhere else. I”m confident there will be some excuse. I’ve included him on this post to let him weigh in.

It can’t possibly be because people in medicine and business in this country are money grubbing sorry bastards who only care about profit.

Hotshot

Contact the “Canadian Pharmacy.”

They email me every couple days with ads for deep discount Viagra.

For some reason, their email and billing address is in Russia.

If it is generic, no longer under patent, anyone can make it. Not sure how Amenda can control the market.

Exclusive distribution rights would only apply to a patented medicine.

Healthcare is an extortion racket after being hijacked by the politicians.

the entire congress, both branches and both parties should be tarred and feathered and dragged through the streets until their limbs are ground off

they want to kill us off with obamacare and replace us with immigrants that they promised to take as part of trade deals

We are assured that only by grossly overcharging for drugs can the pharmaceutical companies accrue enough to research and develop new drugs. The marvel of the thing is not that we are lied to and treated as idiots by rapacious drug companies, but that their lies are promoted and endorsed by opinion leaders and elected representatives who claim to be experts and to have our interests at heart.

How does one buy the US distribution rights for a generic?

That’s like having the US distribution rights for a public domain film or book.

I was watching a video of Joe Rago, speaking at Hillsdale College and noticed a video on questions surrounding his death. I am presuming that you know who Joe Rago was and that he was the putative expert on Obamacare and its faults.

The video was from a conspiracy theory web site, but the theory that they are investigating makes sense. They claim that Obamacare is dependent on restricting coverage of drugs to generic drugs and that Hillary was involved in a huge pharmaceutical factory which produced many generic drugs, on the Ukrainian/Russian border. They say Rago knew about it.
