BOULDER CITY, NV (KSNV/CNN) - A woman is recovering from burns she suffered after a battery exploded in her purse on Tuesday evening during a city council meeting.
The explosion and fire was caught on camera.
"We hear this awful noise. It sounded like a bookshelf or picture falling off the wall," said Roger Hall of Boulder City Parks and Recreation, who was one of the first who rushed to help.
"She was kind of in shock because it happened so fast," he said. "She was on fire, her purse was on fire. Kind of a crazy scene."
Scorch marks in the carpet show where the battery from Tuesday night was dropped in the hallway as the woman made her way outside of city hall.
Boulder City Fire Chief Kevin Nicholson said the woman was burned on her leg, treated at the scene and sent home.

Trump did it.
Next meeting: Before the meeting begins, I’d like to ask all persons to turn off their exploding purses...thank you.
Samsung Note 7?
Later on, she took a deep sign of relief.
“At first I freaked. I thought maybe it was my vibrator!”
Nope, story says it was not a cellphone for sure. I'm thinking an e-cig.
..or an IED-Cig? hehe..
Im here all day! Order the liver!
I doubt it was an “e-cig” itself, that is pretty rare. Usually its people that have loose battaries that have no idea they are supposed to be in a case so they don’t short.
Even in the devices with a battery short it’s almost always a device with no regulator, meaning that the device is turned on and never turned off. That can’t be done with lithium-ion batteries. Flashlights, weapon lights, laptops, phones, what have you can cause the same thing.
OMG! The original pussy hat!
