Back in 72 I was in a head on involving me on my motorcycle and a very drunk driver in an F-100 on Highway 19 by Cross City. I got deposited in Shands Teaching Hospital in Gainesville. At the same time there were several other accidents and not enough doctors. I showed no obvious signs of life and the gurney with me on it was pushed over to the wall with a green square card on my chest that denoted dead already. Two not quite yet doctors in passing saw the dead guy on the gurney and noted that it was not in rigor mortis yet so they decided to practice some livesaving techniques. Since then I have heard people saying they never wanted to go to a teaching hospital where students would be messing with them. Student doctors are just fine with me.

Don’t suppose you have the actual memory of your tragedy. But because of stories from relatives working in hospitals, I can say I have a good reason not to be on record for donating parts of my (dead) body.
