Plutocracy (A Great 3-Part Documentary about Economic Repression in the USA)

Since I hate the propaganda on Netflix these days, I searched around for entertainment and found this three-part documentary (the first part is linked). It is mostly about the workers' plight and the corruption of crony capitalism, but it has been far more balanced than the Wobbly-level drivel I expected it to be (especially about the Reconstruction period and slavery); it's quite informative and visually captivating.

If someone decides to watch it, I would appreciate if some Freepers decided to express their opinions and set facts straight if need be.

Way too much union, socialist and open borders crapola for my taste.

However, one thing we can learn from left critiques of the 19th century robber barons is the techniques they used to undermine and take over or force their competitors out of business.

I was thinking of this reading the AMZN/Whole Foods announcement of 43 percent price cuts.

A_Whole™ thinks it can absorb losses long enough to drive its competitors out of business.

Agreed on the trust magnates of today, they need muckraked.

I honestly didn’t realize the extent of the outright violence between management and labor in the Gilded Age.
