At the end, she probably was, but I don’t think she started married life that way. She was too innocent and normal to survive in that environment, and it seemed that every person in the royal family was determined to take her down/out.
In the days following her marriage she found out her husband was writing love notes, and giving gifts to, his mistress on his wedding day — or close to that day. I’d say that would give her a bleak outlook on her future.
