It’s this simple:

Athletes, actors, entertainers, and the rest of the elite have the right to protest and say the most vile crap they want. It is their right.

We, the people (including the President) who enrich them with our hard earned and highly taxed entertainment dollars have the right to reject them.

Therein lies the rub. The elite see this as a one way street.

They don’t have the “ right” to pull that crap on our time and our dime at a football game
If they don’t want to honor our country let em stay in the locker room during opening
Then let em go down to St Louis and take a knee for heroin dealers on their own time

They misunderstand freedom of speech. They have the right to express themselves, but their words will cost them in the marketplace where they sell their entertainment. “Free” speech of this nature may turn out to be the most expensively rude political commentary in history, and I find their impending bankruptcy far more entertaining than what is left of NFL games.
