The South has gotten less racist? Less than Massachusetts?
Massachusetts was the first slave colony in New England. Its governors owned slaves. They had the first laws legalizing slavery in the new world. Their legislature never passed a law outlawing slavery.

Over that time, the South has gotten less racist and become more Republican.”
