But imagine what you thought may have been an eyelash turns out to actually be a worm wriggling around. This was the reality for a teenager in Mexico.
The unnamed 17-year-old boy began to feel increasingly intolerable pain in his right eye. His vision also quickly declined, to the point where he could only see hand motions. After three weeks of dealing with the pain, he decided it was time to seek out a doctor, according to his case published in The New England Journal of Medicine.
An eye examination revealed a flatworm, that was 3 millimeters (0.12 inches) long and 1 mm (0.04 inches) wide lingering in his eyeball. If thats not enough to make you squirm, hearing how the worm was living might just do it.
The worm comfortably set up home, even creating holes in the teens iris as it moved around. The worm was moving freely in the eye, Dr. Pablo Guzman-Salas, who treated the patient, told Live Science.

Hubby rode a motorcycle many years ago, a bug flew into his eye and penetrated it, he never felt it. I saw it in his eye and made him go get it removed and with proper treatment full recovery. He now has Retinitis from Navy cleaning Chems, and Glaucoma so bad he takes 3 different drops a day to keep pressures down. 77 and not ready to give up driving, But should with holes in your retinas.

I practically live between Othomologist and Cornea Doc after botched cataract surgery, followed by Lasix to fix that, SUPER DRY EYE SYNDROME. Now all 4 tear ducts are cauterized closed. Might see my first pair of glasses in nearly 5 yrs. IF the idiots understand I now have the vision of a 45 yr old not a 67 yr old. Fixed the football shaped cornea when they did the Lasix. Chose your cataract surgeon wisely.
