There players are no more than entertainers — actors.

Now if I am putting on a play and an actor insists on talking about social justice instead of reading the lines I give him, I am going to find a new actor for that part.

If I am putting on MacBeth and he wants to say the lines from Othello, it is bye-bye time for him.

Same with the players here. If the league grew a pair and told them that a patriotic display at the beginning of the game was part of the overall show they would act respectful or give up their huge salaries. I might start to turn on the games again. Our house has not watched a single game this year.

Just wait until sales of Budweiser and pickup trucks tank. The value of the NFL is dropping like a rock.

If I want to be entertained and listen to Somebody’s social messaging I can go to a U2 concert...

Unless you're in St. Louis and it gets cancelled for fear of a Black Livers Matter riot.

I hope everyone connected to the NFL winds up flat broke and living in cardboard boxes.

Football will be soon dead anyway because of the brain injury business... good riddance. Take up something gentle and safe, like hockey :-)

“The value of the NFL is dropping like a rock.”

I think that Bob Seger song, “Like a Rock”, needs some modification to fit the new America-hating NFL.

Next step will be CBS, Fox, NBC and ABC/ESPN will stop talking about anything to do with the anthem and pretend there is no controversy. They might not even show the anthem anymore at all.

Safe bet. In the past, the media quickly abandoned an issue when they collectively decided it was no longer working or beneficial to the left. They then pretend like it never happened.

An example from the 2000s was the left’s demand to President George W Bush to provide federal money to fund the harvesting of fetal stem cells from aborted fetuses. The media and their Hollywood accomplices pulled out all the stops (e.g., a famous Superbowl commercial showing Christopher Reeves walking again [via CGI], Michael J Fox getting a cure for his Parkinson’s, etc.) Then one day the researchers discovered that adult stem cells worked just as well, if not better, than the fetal cells. No need to use aborted babies anymore. The left/media agitation for federal funding of stem cell research stopped practically overnight.

The LA Chargers were valued at $1.4B when in San Diego. Moving to LA om paper would increase their value to $2 B. They also had to pay a relocation fee of $600 mm. Now they don’t have a stadium, the use a soccer stadium and can only get 22,000 in there for a game. Aaron Hernandez has a stage 3 CTE when he hung himself. Fan aren’t watching or going to games. The Spanos, money leeches, have lost the $600,000,000 fee and $200,000,000 off the franchise value. They took a $1.4 B asset and turned it into a $1 B asset. Good going Dean.

NFL has adopted a new business plan that morphs the premier sports organization in the nation into a political advocacy operation. Its consumer base will change and will produce declining revenue. Employees will have to be laid off and salaries reduced. Perhaps most of the current employees will have to be replaced by new staff whose talents are more in line with the new focus of the business. Strong bodies and physical agility are less valuable for political demonstration and advocacy. A percentage of existing employees can be repurposed as bodyguards for the activists and planners.

#7. I want to rephrase your statement “So it is the NFL vs. the USA”.

It should be “So it is the NLF (Hanoi’s VC operation) vs. the USA”.

There. That’s much more clearer than before.

When they prevented Rush from owing a team was the first sigh something was wrong. I predict the hit baseball took from it’s striking players will be minor in comparison.

I would say that the NFL office, and the owners....can put up with one single season of a 20-percent loss on ticket sales/fan paraphernalia, with a one-third loss on TV revenue. But that’s about it. If we enter the pre-season of 2018, and this knee business continues on...there’s probably three or four owners who will be in financial problems because of contracts and obligations.

Even if these owners with the financial problems try to put their team up for sale....you would have to imagine a 10-percent discount price occurring, and possibly some loss over what they bought the team for.

By mid-summer 2019? Their whole strategy will be hoping on a replacement President, and if Trump runs, and wins? The NFL will likely see three or four teams fold up by fall of 2021. College players have to be viewing this and shaking their heads because it affects their chances in the future.

They should drop the “NFL” and resurrect the old “AFL” name, only this time it would be the African Football League with the requirement that all quarterbacks must be black.

As protests rise and tv ratings fail.

It will be tough for them to continue to try to separate these two facts from each other

BTW, while everyone was talking about knees Trump quietly expanded and made permanent the travel ban. Another example of his ability to distract his opponents with bright, shiny objects.

“I predict the hit baseball took from it’s striking players will be minor in comparison.”

This is about disrespecting the flag. Unless the NFL gets wise and denounces this they are done. Over. No way to sustain itself

The flag stands for our nation. Whatever grievance these guys have. However true or false it is, there is nothing in our founding tenets, our constitution, that either promotes, legalizes or even allows for racism or any kind of favoritism.

The flag does not stand for any of that. Doesn’t matter if people who claim to be patriotic are racists. Doesn’t matter if any of the founders were racists or personally promoted slavery

The flag does not represent that

Therefore, the protest against the flag - The National Anthem- is completely bogus. This is led by and promoted by men who lack the sense of logic it takes to sustain a protest. Where are their wives, families and associates on this, advising them? They are all going to fail and in shame

This is a protest based on emotion and nothing else. It does not matter what kind of destruction it brings or how many people are involved. It lacks a sensible premise.

It will take the NFL with it

Tomorrow rush is going to have to lead off with a statement on the steelers

WhTever he says, people are wise to realize that Trump is well aware when he calls a position what the stakes are going to be. If the NFL wants to go down swinging instead of calling it off Trump will not flinch when this major entity goes down and out leaving stadiums empty like multiple Roman coliseum ruins, ruining the fortunes of owners, a major part of our cultural history taken out by its own moral weakness even while trying to blame Trump

Because this started when the sun set on the day that first player disrespected the flag while on duty in uniform and his employers failed to denounce it

Disrespect for the flag, especially public, rampant, organizes, as this is, can not be allowed without destroying the country.

Someone has to cut off this diseased entity.

It may as well be the president

Anyone wavering on this will find out what a mistake it was in time
