When Hefner started out, he created an image of slick sophistication and glamour; the girls in Playboy were nude but there were no explicit shots of their private parts. Keys to Playboy Clubs were sold for $ 25 each (they sold zillions), the Clubs themselves were attractions and the magazine peaked at 7.5 million subscribers. Then, the whole empire of Playboy seemingly had to become more and more explicit; it was investigated as a center for drug dealing in Chicago and Hefner descended, like a swirling toilet, into more and more filth and depravity. His life didn’t amount to much of anything positive, plenty negative, he hurt many (ask Dorothy Stratten’s family) and although there is a forgiving God, I doubt Hefner is in a “better place”.

“I also made sure the maids took all the sex toys down to the basement after use and washed and sterilized them before returning the gadgets to the secret compartment above his bed.”

This stinks to high heaven. A guy like Hefner would never reuse that stuff...Oh yeah, that was before HIV-AIDS changed the scene. Disco days were reckless enough that I almost believe what this guys says. However, why would the Founder of Playboy Magazine with his “Playboy Philosophy” need a secret compartment in his bedroom for his sex toys in 1978-’79?

Sometimes the women had penises and Hefner didn’t want to be involved with that, although some of the other guests, especially John Belushi, they didn't mind.

Wait...WHAT???

Hugh, most of the time, never had sex with women. He was more interested in watching. He would hire famous male porn stars, including John Holmes, with huge penises and watch them have sex with different girls he brought in. Hugh sat there in his favorite chair, smoking a joint and eating red licorice and watching. I had to go into the room afterwards and if the girls couldn’t walk, I would have to escort them to the bedrooms so they could recuperate. Hef sometimes gave bonuses to the women because the sex acts were so painful.

This is disgusting. Women can be permanently harmed by this...even affecting childbirth later on.

Hugh Heffner certainly was a strange one, back around 10 years ago there was one of those specials on the History Channel called “Secrets of the Playboy Mansion” or something similar. Heffner took all his meals in bed on an old 1960’s era TV tray and for the past 40 years had eaten the exact same meals everyday, and it wasn't particularly healthy either, lunch was something like a bowl of potato chips, and two piece of fried chicken and a soft drink. According to his private chef, he wouldn't touch fresh fruit or vegatables (but he lived to 91, so maybe that says something about health guidelines).

Funny meme but for the wrong reason. Imagine his surprise when he found himself standing in judgment before the Righteous God of the Universe. Only He makes these decisions but I’d be shocked if Hefner wasn’t residing in utter horror right now.

Utter depravity. This man was responsible for the beginning of the vulgarization of our culture. Despicable.

The writer says Hefner didn’t even call him by name, only saying ‘Valet’. The writer was given despicable daily tasks, but I guess the money was good. Some people will chose to tolerate an incredible amount of abuse and degradation for money and just to be close to power. I have to wonder if he writer’s wife was used by Hefner at one time or another. Was he (the author) okay with that too? Sharing his wife with The Boss?
