I’m sure this a dumb question, but why do the various entertainment industries (movies, music, fashion modeling, etc.) get to exploit people in ways that are not now tolerated out here in Squaresville? In other words, why do these industries still get to break labor and employment laws? I suppose the answer is because the people who want careers in these industries won’t speak up and take on the perpetrators until after decades of abuse have occurred.

Well, I guess most people don't have a "dream" of doing boring admin work or customer service so they are less willing to strip off to get that amazing Team Leader gig.
