Peak Playboy was before Hefner moved operations from Chicago to Los Angeles. The magazine pictorials were wholesome compared to today. Lots of semi-clad real college coeds. It was healthy gals getting nekkid and semi-nekkid. Skiing and winter sports pictorials. All girls were white. Lots of snow bunnies.
The move to LA is where it became more and more sleazy each year.
Playboy becomes Freakjoy. Inevitable.
Probably best that it die. But, yes, it used to be ‘clean’, with beautiful girls and risqué humor. I never subscribed and haven’t looked at one in decades, but when I was younger, I enjoyed “reading the articles”. PB was always preferable to Flynt’s smut and the even worse garbage that is out there.

Yes Playboy was several cuts above Penthouse which looked cheap and was more risque. The Larry Flynt magazines I never opened up....maybe three times. They were degenerate like him.
