“Here’s Escalante’s story from 2005:

Fabian Escalante was a supporter of Fidel Castro he worked for the country’s state security department. Later he became head of Cuba’s Counter-Intelligence Unit (1976-1982). In 1978 he agreed to provide information to the House Select Committee on Assassinations.

In 1978 President Carter arranged for a group of imprisoned exiles to be released. This included Tony Cuesta who was involved in an attack on Cuba on 29th May, 1966. A member of his team, Herminio Diaz Garcia, was killed during the raid. Cuesta, who always vowed that Castro would never take him alive, attempted suicide by setting off a grenade, which blinded him and blew off his right hand. Cuesta spent a long time in hospital as a result of his serious injuries.

Just before leaving Cuba Cuesta asked to see Escalante. Cuesta told Escalante that he had been involved in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

He also named Herminio Diaz Garcia and Eladio del Valle as being involved in the conspiracy. Cuesta asked Escalante not to make this information “public because I am returning to my family in Miami - and this could be very dangerous.”

In 1982 Escalante became a senior official in the Interior Ministry; he was considered to be Cuba’s leading authority on the history of CIA activities against Cuba. In a Cuban television documentary broadcast on November 26, 1993, Escalante named the gunmen who killed John F. Kennedy as three Chicago mobsters (Lenny Patrick, David Yaras, and Richard Cain), and two Cuban exiles (Eladio del Valle and Herminio Diaz Garcia), but said that many in the CIA and elsewhere knew what was going to happen.

In 1995, Wayne Smith, chief of the Centre for International Policy in Washington, arranged a meeting on the assassination of John F. Kennedy, in Nassau, Bahamas.
Some high-level Cuban officials also attended the conference. This included Fabian Escalante, Carlos Lechuga, a former Cuban diplomat, and Arturo Rodriguez, a State Security official. Escalante revealed details of Cuesta’s confession.

He also informed the group they had a spy in the anti-Castro community in Miami and knew about the plot to kill JFK. This was a concrete fact in the Miami Cuban exile community.

Fabian Escalante is the author of The Secret War: CIA Covert Operations Against Cuba, 1959-62 (1995) and CIA Targets Fidel: The Secret Assassination Report (1996).

The CIA and the FBI are obviously in for some embarrassment having to do with some bungling and there is more than one report that these departments actively attempted to kill Fidel Castro, among others.

The people they used to get that accomplished may prove to be humiliating, or the trade offs these two departments may have agreed to, in order to fulfill these missions to kill, may prove more than distasteful.

Who knows, really, in the absence of the promised complete disclosure and UNREDACTED. Redaction was never included in the law and promise to release the JFK File. The entire compilation, after 50 dang years, belongs to the PEOPLE and no allowance was made for last minute jitters on the part of the FBI and CIA causing redactions!

Posner has updated his book in various editions.

There were many small disjointed cover-ups surrounding the assassination, the SS, the CIA, the FBI, Dallas police, Texas Rangers, etc. each scrambled to not be embarassed by not being vigilant enough when they should have been. It’s not any more than that.

The thing about conspiracy obsession is that if experts like Posner and Bugliosi debunk a conspiracy, somehow a new deeper conspiracy is invented to explain why they are wrong. It never ends.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary PROOF and there is none here.

If that was the case, why would anyone cover up anything about it today?

they should obey the law and release all the documents unredacted. if they redact all the so called sensitive stuff what’s the point? probably holding off on the other docs until older globalist bush kicks the bucket.

So far, some of these documents are not from back when the Warren Commission investigated, I saw 1978 even. That’s what the hold up may be. Some of these documents may even be from the 1990s per one article. They need to redact assets, names.

The CIA statement:

We welcome the President’s directive to conduct further review of the records in the JFK Assassination Records Collection to identify any additional information that can be released, while still protecting our officers, partners, sources, and methods.

CIA has been working diligently to release to the public as much CIA information as possible from the collection. Pursuant to the JFK Assassination Records Act of 1992, more than 87,000 CIA records were identified as falling within the scope of the collection. Of those, CIA has already released more than 69,000 records to the public in full, without redaction.
Every single one of the approximately 18,000 remaining CIA records in the collection will ultimately be released, with no document withheld in full. While some of these 18,000 records currently contain targeted redactions, the information redacted represents less than one percent of the total CIA information in the collection.
CIA’s current redactions were undertaken with the intent to protect information in the collection whose disclosure would harm national security — including the names of CIA assets and current and former CIA officers, as well as specific intelligence methods and partnerships that remain viable to protecting the nation today.

I don’t have my own theory, but I have read factual evidence submitted to record and I’m unable to reconcile all of the anomalies to the lone wolf Oswald theory.

It is almost irrelevant as to who pulled the actual triggers, but what is relevant is who allowed or colluded with the assassination. Who obstructed justice and covered up prior knowledge and cleaned up afterwards is also significant today.

I wouldn’t condemn The Agency in its entirety. Everything is always conducted on a need to know basis; very few likely knew beforehand, but many assisted in the clean-up.

I don’t buy just rehashing what we saw in Stone’s “JFK”, the Mark Lane, Anthony Summers etc. conspiracies,

If one is saying, “Posner’s book is 25 years old”, guess what about the conspiracies we hear once again?

We’ll never know the whole truth.

And, we will never believe it if we see it.

I so agree with you. I had not thought about Bush. He should know all the secrets. You know the Clintons do. Was there anyone snoopier than Hillary using Craig Livingston and FBI files, in the White House?

PS: ‘64 was a very good year.

I agree, if one goes into Conspiracies, why not say the Communists did it? It would also give reason to worry about is released.

“Why the Communist Killed Kennedy”, one can make the same kind of case as those saying Cuban Exiles, etc. did it.

JFK conspiracy perpetuation is an EXTREMELY lucrative industry, everyone has a book or a pamphlet to sell. This subject more than just about any other attracts massive numbers of tin foil hat “theorists.” I get it, conspiracies are mysteries, reading about them is interesting and fun. I’m sure it’s a really interesting hobby.

Go to Daley Plaza in Dallas. Even now after all this time there are dozens of booths and kooks set up, all of them hawking tours, books, pamphlets, cds, etc. for lots of money. It’s a little slice of the lucrative business of peddling JFK conspiracies.

The HSCA concluded that Kennedy had been killed by Oswald and unidentifiable co-conspirators.

Close ...

"The Committee further concluded that it was probable that:
four shots were fired
the fourth shot came from a second assassin located on the grassy knoll, but missed"

"A bullet found on Governor Connally's hospital gurney and two bullet fragments found in the Presidential limousine were ballistically matched to this rifle (Oswald's)."

Maybe so. But when I watch the Zupruder film of the 3rd shot it sure looks like the shot came from the right and front of the car. Or maybe the driver just hit the accelerator at that instant which made Kennedy's head roll backwards.
