What was reprehensible was that Lisa Bloom QUIT working for Harvey Weinstein when she couldn't take the heat. Even people accused of murder are entitled to attorneys. I don't begrudge Harvey Weinstein all the lawyers he wants to pay for, and I don't have an issue with Lisa Bloom's working for him. What made me sick was that she ran away when people criticized her. Digging up dirt on accusers is what good lawyers DO. Harvey Weinstein — who I happen to believe is a pig — has not been indicted of a crime, yet people are blithely calling him a “rapist” on the air. Weinstein may be a rapist, but there's a PROCESS for determining that. In fact, there are criminal and civil processes. As a political conservative, I suppose I could chuckle to see the downfall of someone so entrenched in the Elite that his “Mea Culpa” concluded with a pledge to fight the real enemies...Trump and the NRA. However, I am disturbed to see people who can't have any legitimate gripe against this person, and who must owe much of their careers to him — people such as Matt Damon — denounce him in public when he hasn't been tried for anything.

Anyway, if Lisa Bloom had any integrity, she either would have declined to represent Weinstein in the first place — without telling anyone she'd been offered the job — or she'd have stuck with him. To accept the gig, then bail on him makes her a coward and a Judas.

You raise an interesting point. In most cases when a lawyer fires a client it is because of non payment. Lawyers offer expert advise and likely legal outcomes. Seems to me to be rather unethical to fire a client because the case has become too hot to handle and could damage the lawyers reputation. It is possible she determined her client impossible to deal with, but I wouldn’t put much merit in that conclusion. Mr. Weinstein is still walking the streets.
