So what kind of beefy bird flies at 30,000 feet? :)

I was amazed to find that some fly even higher than that.

Ive come across geese at 14000ft during the day but I didn’t know birds flew at night.

Mt. Everest peak = 29029 feet above sea level. I think in WWII, in the CBI theatre, the Air Force used to fly the Hump (fly over the Himalayas) to resupply operations in China.
