My question is, how is a 47 story building rigged with explosives that quickly? Lots of planning, prep work and materials are need to demolish a building of that size. And by the NY Fire Department which had just suffered massive losses and had more than their hands full with the search for survivors on that day... I'm not saying that it couldn't be done, but it does seem unlikely that it could be done on that day in the middle of all that hell.

There is a very simple context to Silverstein’s remarks, which is that “pull” and “pull it” refers simply to withdrawing firefighters from the effort to save WTC7. The brief interview snippet reflects nothing more than Silverstein agreeing with the FDNY commander that the firefighters should not longer be risked since the building was doomed. That does NOT mean any explosives or anyone deciding to “bring down” the building. It was fatally damaged by massive debris and fires from the collapse of the much taller tower.
