How is the NY truck incident a "cowardly" act?
News | 31 October 2017 | Mene Mene Tekel Upharsin

How is the truck attack a cowardly act? I have absolutely no defense for the murderer and think he should be summarily tried and executed. However, really, how was his attack cowardly? He ran over people knowing what the consequences were going to be and jumped out with useless "guns" knowing he would be shot. How is that cowardly? Takes a lot of guts (no pun intended at all), if you ask me.

When law enforcement should be saying we are going to kick asses and take names, all they can say is that this was a "cowardly act". Looks like the real cowards in all of this are the leaders of the NYPD for not rounding up every potential muslim radical in that city and putting intense pressure on them. Then, after finding out at which mosque they worship, going after those leaders. Now, THAT would be a courageous act, but, it would incur radical criticism and the NYPD are too cowardly to do what is right. So, they just call the terrorist a coward. What kind of attack would make him NOT a coward? Please do tell.

Semantics should not even come into this equation. This SOB killed indiscriminately...hope he survives the gut shot so he can get the chair down the road.

It’s a trope. Calling somebody a coward is superior (presumably) and preferable (again, presumably) to actually doing something effective like putting mosques under surveillance, profiling, harsh interrogation, etc. it’s like the bullshit “We won’t let them change our way of life.” Guess what, assholes: They’ve already changed our way of life.

I get a real laff when a pussy like deblasio or an oily scumbag like cuomo calls somebody willing to kill, and die, for a cause a “coward.”

Who announces where they are going to attack? None of this is making sense. Why doesn’t law enforcement get to the bottom of who is encouraging these attacks in the nation and do something about it, like deport a bunch of people? NOT doing that is cowardly.

To think it’s not cowardly is retarded.

Not cowardly would be attacking the cowards for doing this cowardly act.

For American politicians commenting on such attacks, the attribution of cowardliness is de rigeur.. They do it for domestic purposes which I confess frankly seem obscure. It has no effect whatsoever on future perpetrators, so it really is a pointless rhetorical exercise.

What an eloquent way, correctly, to put it. Now, they need to get off of their bottoms and go find out who is organizing this and imprison/deport/try/execute them. This name-calling is getting us nowhere.

You are confusing suicide with courage.

Bipolar persons lose all human sensitivity and control when experiencing an episode, like a fit of epilepsy, the risk of suicide becomes meaningless. The only thing meaningful thing to such disturbed persons is in a perverted idea of dignity as a martyr.

Such disturbed persons plan for suicide, and plan an Islamic victory over infidels who are unaware and defenseless.

Ergo, the terrorist commits cowardly acts.

As opposed to an intellectual explanation, you resort to ad hominem attacks? Wow.

However, really, how was his attack cowardly?

Any time you go after people who have done you no harm and who can not strike back that is cowardly.

Do you assign the same bravery to all terrorists or just this one?

Not cowardly is fighting the normal way. Announcing your identity and intention, not sneaking and pretending, like some kind of animal.

FYI, it was the @sshole Bill Maher saying almost the identical thing about the 9/11 attackers.
