The California Secretary of State’s office occupies the whole block now. Near as I can tell, the corner office suite of the Secretary of State is right about where the bedroom would have been. The physical space may be the assistant’s office. LOL!
Nothing is as scary as California government. That would make a great, Raiders of the Lost Ark ending to the story: a bureaucrat is doing paper work when a scream erupts from down the hall and a bloody man with a knife runs into his office. Without looking up, the little man with the green eyeshade says, with an air of boredom, “If you want to stage a haunting within the state of California, you’ll need to fill out Form 138-B. NEXT!”
