That was 1969 and it’s possible anyone younger than 40 has never heard of this. That’s why these stories need to be repeated. Same for who bill and hillary were/are prior to moving to Washington. There is a lot of newsworthy history the dems would like to never see in print again. And history is being rewritten when it fits the left’s agenda.
So, Sen. Moore, along with 4 other senators (of which Moore was the only republican), had a relationship with Charles Keating.
Keating gave 113k+ to Moore in campaign donations while he was a Representative. Moore’s wife and father in law invested approx 400k in Keating’s shopping mall.
Keating was chairman of Lincoln Savings and Loan which collapsed in 1989. All 5 senators intervened on Keating’s behalf in the investigation of the S&L. They had taken in excess of 1.5 million from Keating. The 5 senators, now known as the Keating 5, were referred to Senate Ethics Committee.
Sen. Moore should have stepped down at this point of being accused. The Senate Ethics Committee determined “no harm no foul” for Sen. Moore though he should have again stepped down as this point because the Committee criticized him for poor judgment.

Apparently, the historical record of this is not taught anywhere in our useless public school system.
Hoping it would take more to elect a president than just having him not allow a young lady to perish in a car accident. Surely that wouldn’t have been the only thing keeping someone like Ted Kennedy away from the presidency,but then...who knows? Obama somehow got elected.
