The fact that Django’s left hand was deformed because of a fire when he was a young boy, with one finger Frozen in position makes his playing all the more unbelievable.

This is where this counts with me. I have a deformed left arm. While my hand is ok, my radius on the wrist is locked in and I can’t quite make the twist to the neck. I play with the neck almost vertical for some exercises, and I have to use the jazz thumb position the rest of the time. Hitting the 3 higher strings is possible but I have to wrap my hand around to get the lower 2.
Just complaints though. All sorts of people play guitar with all sorts of handicaps. I won’t ever be “The best” but that doesn’t mean I can’t play something.
after 15 years of piano, believe me I’m still not the best.
