Jail the dog owner for the uncontrolled dog and for the threats.
What I know of pit bulls is going by what other pit bull owners have told me.
Others have told me one thing, you tell me another.
Others swear on a stack of bible as high as the Empire State building that’s it’s the owners’ fault. Now you are saying it the breed.
I have no way of knowing since I’ve only really owned a Husky and I know what lovable Chaos they are.
Get my point?
Sometimes retrievers DO maul children! Especially if the kid kicks it in the gonads full force with a knee. It took over 80 stitches to patch that kid up. I saw it happen and there wasn’t a thing I could do except to wash the kid’s face with soap and water, then pack him in ice till someone got there to take him to the hospital. I was 12 at the time.
Any and all breeds of dog can and will use it’s teeth under the right circumstances. Small breeds are the worse for biting. I hate small dogs!
It’s always ugly when a larger dog bites, doesn’t matter the breed. Unfortunately, it’s one breed that gets the attention. But any dog will snap under the right conditions, especially one which hasn’t been worked with very well.
Pits are today’s Jew. They are born with a gold star on their coats which states “marked for extinction by virtue of it’s kind”. I am absolutely not prejudiced..I’m commenting on (contrasting/comparing) a social experiment that folks seem to be blind to. Let’s be anti animal of whatever breed gets put out there.
Pits are awesome dogs who unfortunately are often raised by idiots, and hated by the ignorant.
I’ve been around lots of pitbulls over the years. Most of the owners were responsible dog people and I suspect none of them ever abused their dogs. However, every one of the dogs displayed at least some aggression often without any provocation that I could see. I suspect there is some genetic trait in all of them that can allow them to go from one hundred percent docile to killer mode in a second. If it were left to me, I would ban there breeding and authorize any one found unrestrained to be shot on sight. Sorry, folks.
Dog whistle .... you will probably attract a lot of Progressives and leftist MSM!!!
Really? Dogs are like people? How’s thatt? Are pit bulls hunted and rounded up as a matter of state policy, worked and starved to death, or the recipient of a bullet in the brain or lungs full of poison? The comparison is obscene, it really is.
Theres an additional issue: theyre very effective at the attack.
I can and will attest to that.
If they have teeth, they can bite. Heck, even the toothless ones try for a nibble or a squeeze!
Just far less damaging.
That is only too true-if your dog is to protect you, you must protect and be responsible for your dog-it is the only right thing to do-you don’t let your kids run loose to get into danger...
That made me laugh.
Actually, they do not. A large Canadian city outlawed pitbulls, staffordshires for the last five years, the number of dog bites have increased, and not by pitbull types which are being aged out,
Others swear on a stack of bible as high as the Empire State building thats its the owners fault.
I'm specifically picking on this one quote of yours to point out that it doesn't matter how high the stack of bibles is, or that it's a bible at all, or even if the person who is doing the swearing is an actual bible believer... because all of us are fallible in our limited experience, especially on a subject like this. I shared my story about my own pit bull not to prove a point, but just to reminisce.
Pit bulls join several other breeds on the list of dogs that are recognized as more likely to attack and cause significant injury: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention analyzed data and found the following breeds are implicated in a majority of dog-bite fatalities:Pit bulls
Rottweilers
German shepherds
Huskies
Wolf hybrids
Malamutes
Doberman pinschers
Chow-chows
Saint Bernards
Great Danes
It's worth noting that no matter how these data are arranged mixed breeds versus pure breeds, injuries versus fatalities pit bulls consistently rank at the top of the list for attacks, and by a wide margin. (Rottweilers generally rank a distant second.)
--Are Pit Bulls Really Dangerous?
This is a subject where statistics really are worth a thousand words.
This isn't Globull Warming, using a bunch of grant-driven "computer models"... this is just a simple count of hospital visits for dog bites, and the dogs that did the biting.
Now to the question of whether "the owners made them do it"... I realize the CDC doesn't answer that question.
That question is still up in the air and still a matter of opinion.
However, let me ask you this: do you really believe that pit bull owners have that kind of power, that they can transform a normal dog such that statistically that dog ends up not only at the top of the heap in recorded serious dog bites, but at the top by a wide margin?
I find that a bit hard to believe. A bit like saying, "don't blame heroin for the addiction rates among heroin users, it's the way they are using the drug. Marijuana users are more careful and don't use their drug so addictively."
Of course we would never say anything like that because we all know there is a basic chemical difference between heroin and marijuana. Just as (in my opinion) there is a significant DNA difference between pit bulls and every other breed of dog.
You know about the bear shit in Alaska that has little bells in it and smells like that spray stuff, don’t you?
I see what you are saying just don’t know what to think.
Only know and are telling you what others have told me. Never owned a dog like that myself and tell you the truth that is not my type of dog.
Husky is my dog of choice and really have had no problems with them biting...other humans. Now furniture...pillows..carpet...clothing...oh they will destroy a whole room in a blink of an eye. That couch was toast. Oh well it was an older one and a fire hazard anyway.
and this kind of dog chain?
