So how come that Thompson (the other kid that had a hand in killing the 2 year old) kid never re-offended and this one did?
What about Mary Bell of England from the late 60’s? She killed but after treatment she never re-offended and she’s what? 55 to 60 years old now.
I have to ask why some kids can be reached and some are bad seeds?

How many failures over time all worked together to result in this crime. IIRC these two were regular truants, and apparently had nothing better to do that day than to abduct and torture a toddler.

Most don’t realize the collective and long-term effects of life’s small decisions.
Maybe the few who don’t reoffend realize that the only way forward is forward, and are grateful for an unmerited second chance.
