The owl of minerva is from Hegel, and means only finally understanding something after it’s almost over or almost too late. It’s similar to the idea that you can only have knowledge of something looking backwards.

The only weird part is Hillary saying, “Minerva agrees.” Which either means she doesn’t understand the reference, or possibly she’s assuming the name of Minerva, the goddess of wisdom, obviously arrogantly, or maybe it’s some inside joke or something else.
