LIVE! We're Projecting The College Football Playoff Teams All Day On 'Championship Saturday'
Business Insider ^ | 12-2-2017 | Cork Gaines

It's Championship Saturday!

One game is in the books at Oklahoma blew out TCU, 41-17. That put the Sooners in the playoff and officially eliminated TCU.

That leaves as many as eight teams that could have a case to be included in the playoff's last three spots depending on how the last three major conference championship games play out on Saturday. But in reality, there are five teams that still control their own destiny. Outside of those teams, there are two teams that could have strong cases, including Alabama, who needs some help, and one team that would likely need a miracle.

Here are the four games and when and where they can be seen today:
• The Big 12 Championship, Oklahoma vs TCU — 12:30 pm on FOX
• The SEC Championship, Georgia vs Auburn — 4:00 pm on CBS
•The ACC Championship, Miami vs Clemson — 8:00 pm on ABC
•The Big Ten Championship, Ohio State vs Wisconsin — 8:00 pm on FOX

Below we will be following the four games and how the results and current scores could impact the playoff rankings. So keep checking back for the latest playoff projection.

If Wisconsin wins they will and should be included.

If Ohio State wins, Alabama should be the choice and the Big 10 left out.

Maybe Miami will get to play OU for the NC, since they got screwed out of it when FSU played OU in 2002 and rolled over for OU. Miami would have easily won that game.

Too much subjective garbage to find the top 4 teams. They need to expand the playoff teams to either 8 teams or 12 teams. If they go 12 teams then the top four can get a bye.

This year it’s way too hard to figure out who the top four should be. At least with the top 8 or 12 teams, it wouldn’t be as subjective and far more interesting.

"If Ohio State wins, Alabama should be the choice and the Big 10 left out."

I don't think they'll chose two teams from the SEC and leave others completely out.

I’m embarrassed for Auburn. Four weeks ago Malzahn said “We beat the dog crap our of them.”. Talk about motivation for Georgia. Malzahn needs to learn only Spurrier knew how to play with the other team’s head. Except he messed with the other coaches’ heads.

I don’t see how Oklahoma can lose the NC.

If Wisconsin wins tonight, then this year is pretty easy — or at least as easy as it will ever get in NCAA football — to pick the top four teams.

I agree with you on the 8 or 12 team format.

However the CF power’s that be want to control who gets in and they can only do it with a 4 team or less format.

That’s why I haven’t watched the BCS or CFC series in over 10 years.

It’s a rigged system and the polls are BS.

Auburn’s victory over Georgia earlier this year was an outlier...Kerryon Johnson is the key to the Auburn offense and he was banged up with a shoulder injury- one of the worst types of injuries for an RB..

the only chance Miami had tonight was somehow the Clemson bus getting lost on the way to the stadium...

Perhaps, but for me, it’s still way too subjective. With expanded playoff teams at least it wouldn’t be as subjective.

It would be far more interesting and exciting for me as well if it were more teams (8-12) to decide a national champion on par with college basketball’s March Madness. I hope they do expand it.

I hear you, I’m a huge college basketball fan because of March Madness. I have come to watch more college football because now they have playoffs but it’s not enough teams.

Yeah, I really hated the old college football system of polls and picking the champions. At least this is better but it can be much better with more teams. I hope the CF powers that be are listening.

Alabama was preseason #1 and a unanimous #1 in the AP poll until the last game of the season. All season long the so-called experts on ESPN said they were the best team in the country. Not Clemson, not Ohio State, not Georgia, not Oklahoma. It was Alabama. If they played such a weak schedule why in the hell were they rated #1 for 99.9% of the year? Wisconsin was also undefeated and barely in the top 10 the entire season. If Ohio States beats them today and this two loss team makes the playoffs over Alabama, and I mean Ohio State had two blowout loses, just go ahead and get rid of of the BCS. It’s bullshit.

Defense usually wins titles and Oklahoma has no defense. I think their playing Georgia. I’ll take Georgia.

Miami is a joke. Clemson plays GA next. My pick is Georgia.
