The No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes captured their first Big Ten championship since 2014 thanks to a 27-21 triumph over the No. 4 Wisconsin Badgers at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Saturday night. The win, which was buoyed by a slew of explosive plays from the Buckeyes' speedy skill position players, figures to incite tremendous debate among the College Football Playoff selection committee in advance of Sunday's final rankings reveal.
Neither one of these teams looked like a top 4 team.
Here’s Alabama’s resume. They beat 23/24 ranked Mississippi State and 17th ranked LSU. That’s it! The only top 10 they played was Auburn and they lost. OSU beat 10th ranked (number 2 at the time) Penn State, 19th ranked Michigan State, and 4th ranked Wisconsin.
Congratulations OSU, enjoy watching Bama in the playoffs.
THE Ohio State University has always had Bucky’s number. I knew deep down Wisconsin was going to have a fight on their hands. Oh well.
I’m sorry but tonight we saw that the Big Ten isn’t all that. Wisconsin was not impressive at all, and yet they still had a chance to pull it out. OSU needed a convincing win to get in, and they didn’t get it.

If OSU won 59-0 like in 2011, I’d say yes. But they had to hang on against a Wisconsin team that frankly was vastly overrated.
I’ve always had respect for OSU. They’re a great school and football program. Always have been a thorn in WI side.
Auburn/Ohio St. would be a good game(assuming non-playoff), hard to leave out a conf. champion however, even though the B1G is kind of weak...that said, wasn’t exactly the best year for the SEC either.
I think now that Clemson is going to repeat, they’ve hit their stride.
Maybe the reason UW didn’t look impressive was the players on the other side of the field. Did Alabama look impressive against non-FBS Mercer, who they played two games ago? Seriously, you play Mercer to build your late season resume?
Until they take the Power 5 Champions and add 5 at large champions it is a fake championship. Good for ESPN.
And undefeated UCF just beat #20 Memphis. UCF should get one of the four slots. They are still undefeated.
