Free-agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick was named one of the 10 people on Time Magazine's shortlist for their annual "Person of the Year" honors.
The winner will be announced on Wednesday at 7 a.m. ET.

Can I ask a dumb question? What’s with this person of the year being awarded with a month to go in the year? Suppose something g significant happens in this last month which would tip the balance to another candidate? But then the award was already given out? So you can’t go back and change it
I remember Look and Life and the Saturday Evening Post. Magazines from a different time. Time will join them in the graveyard soon.
Time ( which has completely disappeared even from the doctors waiting room( and Colin whatshisname — Two anti- American rags from the past — who deserve each other. All Colin has to do to clinch the “Time award” ( he’ll probably get anyway) is to chop off his d!ck and announce he’s found himself a job at the Bunny Ranch. I highly recommend it for him

Well, if by effecting change in both the viewing habits of a lot of former NFL fans, and by polarizing and focusing attention of the long-term effects of sometimes major trauma incurred in the bruising contact aspect of football, then perhaps Colin Kaepernick does deserve the title.
But it further cements the conclusion that Time magazine is increasingly irrelevant.
He may have cost the NFL hundreds of millions of dollars protesting something that in statistical terms barely makes the radar screen of crime stats.
I have to admit, if one person makes me wish I were a black person it is Kaepernick. If I were a black man, I would grow out my hair even a million times bigger and puffier than his is!
Of course he is. Losers who divide us as a nation are considered great people by the divisive losers at Time.
Don’t care. We have bigger issue to worry about.
