I consume 132-162 grams of protein daily. I think you mean the max should be 60grams from protein powder. The problem with protein powder is without fat protein in hard on the kidneys.
I believe it is a little higher than that. A better way to figure it is by body weight and activity level.

.5 grams per pound for an active adult
.6 for a very active adult.
Also to be figured in is the balance of carbs and fat, both needed. These people go nuts on protein and virtually eliminate carbs and fat. That seriously exacerbates the already excess of protein.
