Moms who have suffered miscarriages are slamming Planned Parenthood for its tweet comparing miscarriage to abortion. The liberal media have yet to cover it but thats not stopping more women from chiming in.
On Friday, Planned Parenthood Action Fund quoted feminist writer Danielle Campoamor on Twitter after she insisted that theres no difference" between a woman who has had a miscarriage and a woman who has had an abortion. The quote came from a piece she wrote for Romper, where Campoamor serves as editor.
"There is a common misconception that the mom who miscarries is a very different person than the woman who aborts, but I'm here to say there is no difference, Planned Parenthood cited her words in a tweet. I am both of those women."
Inside her article, I'm Miscarrying Right Now, & It's Only Strengthening My Beliefs About Abortion, Campoamor went more in-depth:
Miscarriage and abortion are sisters. Just like my body knew what to do when an abnormal embryo implanted itself in my uterus, my mind knew what to do when a healthy embryo found its way to the soft lining of my uterine wall back when I was 23 years old, in an unhealthy relationship, living paycheck-to-paycheck, unwilling and unable to be a mother.
Perhaps, one day, I will feel another kick, hear another heartbeat, and experience another pregnancy, she concluded. But for now, and while I am sad and in pain, I will find comfort in the knowledge that every outcome of pregnancy be it a miscarriage, an abortion, or a birth is normal.
But parents on Twitter passionately agreed with her philosophy mainly because abortion is a choice while miscarriage is not. Many spoke from their own experience of miscarriages.
As a woman who has suffered 2 miscarriages, Allison called the tweets argument absurd. She elaborated: Choosing to end a life is NOT the same as having that little life taken away from you. Guilt and grief are not the same.
Another, named Brenda, exclaimed, NO IT'S NOT! I lost 5 pregnancies. One was twins. I wanted 5 or 6 kids. While she considered aborting the first, she changed her mind after talking it thru with a family member.
One woman who suffered three miscarriages added, I see pregnancy and life as a blessing always, you consistently see it a choice no matter the outcome. We are very different types of moms.
A woman named Catriona added, Wow. As a young woman of 25 who miscarried my first and only child, (still trying).... this is so HIGHLY insulting. I WANTED my child. Big ass difference.
Another tweeted, You want to hear stories from woman who have had an abortion? Go to a therapy group and listen in! Its not that pretty! Believe you me! Ive had one! I almost died! I also mourned! I hated myself for years!
Another who suffered a miscarriage, Kelsey, revealed, Besides the obvious differences like intent/death from natural causes vs violence, the absence of choice for a woman who miscarries is painfully ironic for a business that clings to an outdated mantra about choice.
Kami agreed: As a woman who has suffered a miscarriage, there is a huge difference. One is a conscious choice, the other is not and is often a terrible heartbreak. You do not speak for all women and trying to equate the two is heinous.
Similarly, Angie said, As a woman who suffered multiple miscarriages, then preemies, your statement is offensive. The act of CHOOSING to end a babys life is vastly different from losing a pregnancy. Stop spreading misinformation and murder propaganda.
Other Twitter users who reacted were related to or knew women who suffered miscarriages.
One user warned, Oh boy.....don't even go there. My best friends just lost their child 2 weeks from their due date. NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE SAME THING!!!!!!
Women who have experienced abortion also disagreed with Planned Parenthoods tweet and Campoamor.
Mel, who has shared her abortion story on Twitter before, tweeted, As someone who had an abortion 30 years ago and is still haunted by it. This is incredibly evil and completely untrue. My guilt is a guilt of choice, theirs is unwarranted. My hurt was self-inflicted, theirs were not.
Even abortion supporters expressed fury at Planned Parenthood.
Lessie tweeted, This statement is so wrong. There is a difference. Miscarriage there is no control. Abortion is control. I'm both and when I miscarried I wanted to die when I held my dead baby. When I aborted my baby I felt a sense of relief. BIG DIFFERENCE Stop the lies.

Planned Parenthood needs to be in that bowl!
Abortion is a CHOICE. Miscarriage is a heartbreaking occurrence. As soon as you find out your are pregnant, you start planning the next 20 years. Having had several miscarriages, I am extremely offended and insulted by the comparison!
Natural death is not the same as murder. Accidentally serving food that causes food poisoning is not the same as adding cyanide to someone’s food to deliberately kill him.
Selena was played by Hope Lange, and the doctor was played by Lloyd Nolan.
dear LORD have mercy on them. they are so blind to truth. Turn their hearts toward truth and toward You so strongly they can no longer continue the evil they do and promote. Move them to become warriors against abortion as other ex-abortion workers have. For Your glory LORD and for the lives of these unborn innocents.
Miscarriage is a tragedy. Abortion is an atrocity. Too many people don’t understand the difference.
Did you know that current Illinois Lt. Gov. Tina Smith, now nominated to replace Al Franken, is a Planned Parenthood Apostle of Abortionism?
I love trolling their twitter feed
As if I needed more proof these people are disgusting low lifes.. there it is.
Perfectly said.
Lots of pictures out there of her showing off her baby.
Liberalism is a mental disorder.
What?! Crushing a person's skull and vacuuming out the brains is not the same as dying from natural causes?
Jabbing a needle into someone's heart and injecting it with a lethal potassium chloride solution is not the same as dying from natural causes?
Regards,
I suppose Scott Petersons son Conor died a normal death too.
