Women more unhappy than men until they reach mid-80s
The Times (UK) ^ | 12-14-17 | Chris Smyth

Women are more miserable than men for almost their entire lives and are happier only after the age of 85, according to a large NHS survey.

It found that women get progressively happier in retirement before overtaking men in their ninth decade. Psychiatrists say that this may be because so many are widowed by then.

Growing numbers of Britons are reporting consistent unhappiness, the Health Survey for England found, with women more likely to report severe problems at almost every age.

I don’t know who they’re talking about. I’m a 70 year old woman who has been happy for a long time. I’ve been divorced since ‘79, raised two kids by myself, had a good career, have a decent pension and social security, and did more in my life than I ever thought I’d get to do. No regrets here.

In 2011, life expectancy at birth was 78.7 years for the total U.S. population, 76.3 years for males, and 81.1 years for females.

Males don’t live as long (presumably because we’re married to females).

;)

...

OK, you’re joking, but according to life tables, females have less of a chance of dying for every year of age, from 1 on up.

Guess the year of life for when both males and females have the least chance of dying.

The Pope was on his airplane with several cardinals traveling to visit some country most people cannot find on a globe. The Pope was doing the crossword puzzle in Il Figaro when he asked, “Does anyone know a four letter word for a woman that ends in ‘UNT’?”

No one said a word, so he asked again. Again, no one said a word.

Finally, a young priest in the back of the plane meekly offered, “Your Holiness, perhaps the word you as seeking is ‘AUNT’.”

The Pope nodded, “Yes, my son. That must be the word.” He paused and then asked, “Does anyone have an eraser?”

And that is why Catholic priests cannot marry.

“’Women ... are happier only after the age of 85.’ BECAUSE THEIR HUSBANDS ARE DEAD!!!!”

It worked for my mother.

Ha,you made me laugh, thank you.

Another one from Churchill:

Animals are funny things, A dog looks up to you a Cat looks down on you. Only a pig thinks he’s your equal.

So we should get accelerated Social Security payments, right, because it would only be fair.

When I think of my husband possibly dying, I know that I would have to work very hard to be truly happy again.

If it does have something to do with men and marriage, I wonder how many of these women are miserable because they refuse - or are too frightened - to leave a lousy marriage...

Q: Why do women live longer than men?

A: Because the men want it that way.

Uhh, most men don’t reach their Eighties.

Especially if they have to live with women.

I guess I should thank my ex, when we were selling our house and there was no turning back she had divorce papers delivered, I said “what is this all about we never even talked about divorce”, she said, “you said a year ago you wanted to be happy” and that was that.

Thanks honey

No, they used to think married men live longer. Then they figured out that it just feels longer.

When people ask, I say that we've been married for a hundred years, but it doesn't feel like a day over 90. :)
