The cruises departing from US ports on LARGE modern ships with tonnage > 150,000 are totally different than what you experienced on that cruise in river Nile.

So? I fully understand that. What is the significance of your comment? I should like cruising on one of the modern behemoths? Count me out! I am a sailor. I have sailed the 'seven seas'. Sail, not stink boater. The Great Lakes, the Pacific, the Caribbean, the Irish Sea, and also the Nile, on a felucca.

Significance is this: The ship does not give you motion sickness, and it does not give you claustrophobia being so spacious. And the bigger ships can afford to hire the better live entertainment. And there are huge choices of food to suit your palette, without a bill each time.
