We have a Norwegian Forest Cat and she is stubborn and picky. I am the only person in our family she to whom she has bonded and even then she barely tolerates affection.

I have read that the breed is like that sometimes but I have never encountered anyone else who has had a NFC in their family.

I once had a Maine Coon. He was an awesome kitty......and such a baby.

Just took another pic of Bijou, my Maine Coon. Of course, with this bronchitis, just had to cough right when she was striking a pretty pose! And I just made a Youtube video of both my cats using their new Chanukah present, a cat tunnel. So far, the little cat loves it and Bijou is shy of going into it.

About 17 years ago I had a long-haired kitty that resembled a norwegie, mackerel tabby with white coat pattern.
Full ruff, beautiful kitty.
But, she wasn’t a norwegie.
Very affectionate, 22 pounds of shoulder cat.
And if your lap was open, well, you were her bestest bud until she either fell asleep or was happy with the scritches.
I miss her.
But I have another shoulder kitty now.
10 pounds of black furred “majestic fluff butt”.
