We as humans have no problem killing insects by the billions and rodents by the millions. What if compared to aliens we have the intelligence of a rat?

Secondly inertia is a fundamental property of all matter, the way these objects move defies the laws of physics, so either they exist in a higher dimension and their bizarre movements are just how we see them in a lower dimension, or they are not matter.

Not a fun prospect. OTOH, as Wells so brilliantly pointed out, the common cold - to a Human could well be the Black Death to BEM.
