Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball bought his parents a Rolls-Royce for Christmas, which Im pretty sure fulfills a Christmas wish LaVar Ball made when he and wife Tina had their first son 20 years ago.

Five years after he retires he’ll be on the streets.
His eventual kids from 5 baby mammas will grow up in poverty with a few trinkets from his glory days. Forgotten by the next generation.
Poor people are poor even when temporarily rich.
...with 21” spinner rims.
And if he did all that quietly.
*Real* charity is done quietly...not like this or like Mark Zuckerberg announcing a one billion dollar donation to some transgender surgery clinic.
I've read that something like three quarters of those who win huge prizes in the lottery are in bankruptcy court within 5 years of winning.
A gift that requires a publicity agent for a dad whose very name sounds like a bathroom fixture.
Good for him (assuming his parents actually wanted a Rolls-Royce). He can certainly afford it. I do hope he is setting aside sufficient funds to take care of him and his family once he is finished playing basketball.
I wonder what the insurance policy runs on a $350,000 car? I’m guessing LaVar and his wife will have to shell out about $15,000 a year for the car to be street legal with coverage.
It’s not unlike many lottery winners. A few years after the event, all they have left to show for it are some expensive tattoos.
I guess Lonzo isn’t the shoplifter.
There’s a term for this that cannot be posted but the second word is “rich.”
He’s not of the quality of a Bird or Johnson. But I think because of the dismal quality of players in the league...provided no major injuries, I think he can probably stick around for ten years in the league. His big reason for sticking around the Lakers is simply to get noted with the media and get some tennis-shoe contracts.
In his case, I think a second and third season with the UCLA team would have helped the kid. He’s averaging around 12 points a game right now, and I think that’s his peak contribution.
I dunno about that.
Of course, I've no idea about his salary, or his financial situation. But I know that a basketball career is measured in a few years, not decades, so he has a short earning horizon. And, he's one ACL injury away from "That guy over in the corner? Yeah, I think he played ball awhile back."
His money, he can do what he likes. However, the old saw about a fool and his money always rings true.
The Balls will be living in a dumpster, railing at White racism a month after he leaves the game.
This is the very definition of that term, isn’t it?
IMHO....Make that a $350K Home, or a $350K retirement fund, and it makes sense. A $350K car merely shouts _______ rich. Kind of sad, too. It means nobody on that street has learned much of anything.
I think he’s under contract for a little more than $34 million for four years. As long as he saves half of it, and doesn’t buy a new Rolls every year, he should be fine.
That’s why I said I hope he’s setting some aside for later.
It will look good sitting in front of their trailer.
