Are you sure it lasts 11 years, or does it start to come back on an 11 year cycle. Because I really miss the sun.

This is great news as I live for snowmobiling so i’ll be enjoying these winters.

Not quite true. The solar sunspot cycle is 11 years long. And we are heading to a minimum. But the cycle (cycle 25) should peak in about 2024. Normally a more active sun (more sun spots) puts out more radiation which the earth sees as heat. During a minimum the sun spot number drops and we see less heat from the sun.

The last cycle (24) was the weakest in over 100 years. See linked article at bottom of this post. Certain experts predict that cycle 25 will also be weak.

According to http://www.spaceweather.com we have a totally clear sun today. No spots whatsoever.
