A ridiculous statement. You can plug any ethnic, religious or racial group into your formula. Not all Irish are drunks but a noticeable percentage are. Not all blacks are lazy... You get the point.
In my long life I've had noteworthy "exposure" to a number of racial/religious/ethnic groups.Irish,obviously,being one.Hispanics,blacks and Jews being several others.
My conclusion regarding *these* groups...these "stereotypes"...is that there's a kernel of truth,but no *more* than a kernel of truth...to these,and other,"stereotypes".
And that,as I've already said,includes my own people...an absolutely *noticeable* percentage of whom are most *assuredly* drunks.
P.S.,there was a time when the Irish played a noteworthy role in the American Mafia...as did Jews.
