Things may have changed since I left...progress may have been made...but when we'd get in a patient this badly burned we always say (softly) "hopefully,he/she will die quickly".
We'd say that because we knew that it was 99% certain that the patient would die eventually...quickly or slowly.
Dying quickly would be all I’d be hoping for in this situation too.
I was thinking the same thing. It would be a blessing for the poor girl.
At 95% death is 100% IIRC
Poor child, poor family.
When I was in first grade, I was hospitalized with Double Pneumonia for about a week.
One night, I heard horrific, agonizing screams. My mother, who was spending the night with me, went to see what was going on.
We lived in a small town and my dad was the police chief, so the nurses told my mom what was happening. One of my classmates had been playing with matches and burned herself very badly.
She was hospitalized at St. Judes for the remainder of the school year and was forced to repeat the first grade.
It was a miracle she survived. She has severe scars from her neck down and, to this day, still requires occasional surgeries. The accident occurred in 1978. I will never forget her screams of agony.
I cant even imagine the absolute hell this poor girl is enduring. Prayers for her and her family.
Which is why I prayed to Gd to help her. He knows what she needs. I dont. Poor poor child.
I’d probably agree with that, especially if the person knew Jesus.
Too much pain from burns for anyone to have to need to endure.
I cannot imagine the suffering that poor baby went through, even in the medically induced coma. I’m not all that sure that those comas can keep you unaware of what’s going on or feeling pain. Who knows what she was aware of and felt but could not express?
