I was in the hospital for a minor procedure briefly last year, sharing a room with a fellow who had kidney failure from taking ibuprofen. Years before, he hurt his knee and took Motrin for the pain daily. This killed his kidneys. When I got home, I threw out every bottle of the stuff I had.
Kenny Easley of the Seahawks had to have a kidney transplant which he attributed to the bucket of Advil in the locker room. He said you just walk by and grab a handful all the time.

Yes, I have read that ibuprofen/Advil can be very toxic for the kidneys over time. Same goes for the naproxen based meds such as Aleve. Some people pop them constantly, especially if they have injuries, but the results may be very bad over time.
