EQUAL JUSTICE for VICTIMS; BOOK REVIEW

Recently, I had the honor and privilege of reading “Equal Justice for Victims,” by Lester Jackson. It’s a great and fantastic book showing why capital punishment is urgently needed. I am a big fan of capital punishment; so this book is right up my alley. Something always has bothered me, as our legal system has become increasingly liberal: the lack of justice for victims of vicious criminals. Legalistic sympathies often lie more with those who have committed heinous crimes than the victims they have killed or damaged irreparably. This book addresses that issue in depth. Far too often, politician-judges decide the fates of both the aggrieved and the transgressors. Judges many times are appointed because of political connections rather than a record of following the rule of law. They care not at all about those who are the victims of the beasts among us and judicial decisions tend to go in the direction that benefits a political agenda rather than to assuage the grief and hurt of the victims and their families caught up in brutal crimes. This excellent book by a brilliant and gifted author highlights all of that. I highly recommend it. Summaries of “Equal Justice for Victims” and the author’s impressive background can be found on the book’s home page. Victims need to unite for reform of the American legal and judicial systems. Those who attack, hurt and murder others, should receive the harshest penalties. The death penalty serves as not only a deterrent, but the ultimate form of justice. Dr. Jackson speaks for victims and he speaks for justice. This tremendous read is a must-read not only for the victims of crime, but for all out there interested in justice and the rule of law. It needs to be widely read. I highly recommend it.

I consider capital punishment to be more of a form of societal self-defense than a deterrent. Once the criminal is executed, we know he or she won’t kill anyone else.

I sometimes look at it as some folks (convicted of certain crimes) just need to be put out of our misery.

... so to speak.

When Capital Punishment was a Public Viewed soon after sentencing event it was a deterient. Now that it takes up to 30+ yrs of state and Fed appeals, with retrials, vacated sentences. Protest to endure.

The piece of animal Crap that Raped/Beat/Strangled/Drowned my friend’s 8 yr old daughter had 2 trials, both ending in the DP. That took 4+ yrs, Piece of Crap has been on TN Death Row since. Crime took place spring 1990. 25+ yrs of State appeals just finished, Fed ones to go 1st 1 has not been set yet. He’ll die on Death Row before that happens, or my friend won’t live to see Justice.

Ouch.
That is a sad story; I prayed for your friend, and for Justice, because there is nothing else I can do.
