I know personally several FBI employees... And honestly I can’t imagine any of them writing something like this. They are all very dedicated individuals beyond reproach, but are also not so stupid as to not understand that there is a difference between the rank and file and what they do, and the political animals that tend to exist up the chain of command.

What's he hiding?

We should appoint a specical counsel to find out, especially since we have no evidence. That seems to be the gold standard for appointing one.

I am waiting for a large group of regular agents to
rise up as one and decry the politicizing of the
FBI or maybe I am just naive enough to believe
that not all of them have jumped over to the
dark side.

One more whining crybaby exits with a dramatic and somewhat histrionic flounce.

No wonder he told his story to the Fishwrap Times instead of a news outlet.

I wonder whether he’s quitting or retiring. The latter wouldn’t be quite so noble, would it? If he is in fact retiring, the NYT had an obligation to include that info. Ditto for the fact that he worked closely with Comey, as another poster mentioned. It should be interesting to see where he ends up next. Maybe someone in the blogosphere can let us know these details in the months to come.

"I'm sure there's more..."

Indeed -- with OKC right at the top of the list...

WTH did that marvel of lucid prose emit from -- aside from a place where the sun never shines? :-(

I doubt he’d be eligible for a retirement with only 10 years in. But to climb the ladder to being an assistant to the Director, in that time, that took some serious politic’s.

I’m sure he was sent on “errands” on behalf of the former Director. Thinking that, by doing so, his star would rise even faster, once she won. His fingerprints are probably on something. And thinking that if he leaves, he might walk away clean.

I lived that one -- "up close and personally"... (See my FRProfile)

It would take several FR Posts (not comments) to document all the malfeasance of the Foul But Incompetent associated with that case. (Including putting us on their terrorist groups list -- just for pointing out their lack of integrity...)

I agree about the 10 years, but I’m wondering whether he has other service with the feds that would count toward a pension. The NYT also should have asked him whether he already had a job lined up and if so included that. The answers to these questions would reveal whether he was actually sacrificing anything or just a partisan with a new job with some of his cronies, possibly at a higher salary even.

Foul But Incompetent ... that is good.

I was told it stood for, Famous But Incompetent, but your’s is good. And, they really are famous for, just about, nothing. Their legacy of corruption is pretty lengthy, but for some reason, when everyone seems to want to go after every cop in the country, these guys seem to slither away, with nary a scratch.

Worst part is, they do have some standup people working for them. Some ask, “why don’t those guys stand up?”, because that entire place, at every level(as with most agencies), has hundreds or thousands of people like McCabe, Strzok, Priestap, Comey, Mueller, Page, Ohr, etc etc etc, just waiting for their chance. The clown that wrote the article, we’re all commenting on. No way you climb, that particular ladder in 10 years, without doing some nasty stuff. I’d say, easy math, 1/3 are hard working-honest-patriots trying to do their job, 1/3 just collecting a check-waiting to retire at 57, 1/3 complete and utter snakes in the grass that would do anything they felt necessary-because who is going to police them?

Good point. It’d be real interesting to keep an eye on him and see where he lands. If he was one of Comey’s guys, then it would seem that he spent a lot of time on the, admin side of things. Thought he could ride those coattails to stardom, but she didn’t win.
