Russian security officers have arrested several scientists working at a top-secret Russian nuclear warhead facility for allegedly mining crypto-currencies. The suspects had tried to use one of Russia's most powerful supercomputers to mine Bitcoins, media reports say. The Federal Nuclear Centre in Sarov, western Russia, is a restricted area.

LOL!.....Gotta love those Russian scientists!........Back in the 80’s, when the Soviet Union was still around, they arrested a group of scientists for using Top Secret and expensive stealth Radar absorptive paint on their cars to avoid speeding tickets!...............
In Russia you do not mine Bitcoin - Bitcoin mine you!
It’s not rocket science, guys. You don’t connect your top secret nuclear lab computers to the internet to mine bitcoins.
Even with the super computer they could not beat the 15% monthly drop in production of Bitcoins.
They probably forgot to give the right people a cut of the proceeds..................
Back in the 70`s a bunch of scientists, working at a National Research laboratory, programmed a massive computer, used to predict nuclear experiment outcomes, to predict odds and beat the Vegas house. They won a lot. They quit their jobs & retired.
Not for mining bitcoins, but for using one of Russia’s most powerful supercomputers to mine Bitcoins. Not the same thing.
