I thought Desilu folded with Star Trek in the 60s

The series was pretty awful, due in no small part to horrible acting. Case in point, there was one young actress whose character did nothing but scream, loudly, and at times for no discernable reason. It was really annoying.
Having said that, the general plot wasn't too terrible, so I would probably watch the movie (after it hits cable) just for giggles.

First they came for the mice, but I did not speak out....

Yes”V”, If I recall, that was the show wherein the two young urban professionals took leadership of “the resistance” because, apparently, they were hipper and better looking than the strategically/tactically conversant rednecks. I laughed and walked away.

I have at least one of the CD soundtrack compilations.
TV and movie soundtracks are about the only music I buy.
If I need regular music, there is XM.

If they're going to mine past sci fi series for movies, then I wish they'd do the brit series, "UFO". Only with modern effects - not leftover Thunderbirds models.

I tuned in and watched maybe the first three episodes of V, the Series in 1984. From what I remember, the script and direction was interesting...but you are correct, virtually no one from group except Faye Grant could act, and I seem to remember her just being on the screen for 3 minutes out of each episode.
The curious thing is that this was the first series to ever average a million dollars per episode in the production stage. The production crew appeared to have a new and fresh scene every two minutes of the 42 minute episode. For the whole season, I doubt if I watched more than four total episodes. Total waste of production.
