Full Title: Trump wants a military parade and liberals are hysterical (just more proof it's the right thing to do)

President Trump wants a parade celebrating our military and troops. It’s a great idea, and is a perfect event symbolizing the fact that America is getting back on her feet after eight years of a commander-in-chief who reveled in complaining about America and decimating our military.

The hysteria the proposed parade has provoked among Democrats and leftists provides even more proof that it’s the right thing to do.

Who could argue against a parade that highlights the Americans who defend our freedom and make everything else possible? A military parade would be fun, would honor our vets and would remind the world that America is a superpower and proud of it.

For eight years, President Obama’s administration worked hard to tell the world that America was done. He slashed the military’s budget and withdrew us from the world. Horrifically, on foreign soil he apologized for and chastised his own country.

President Obama gave the impression, through word and deed, that he thought the U.S. was the problem in the world.

The result was abject chaos, terrorist groups spreading around the world like cancer, economic stagnation, North Korea getting atomic weapons, and a worldwide refugee crisis the extent of which had not been seen since World War II.

Critics of President Trump’s parade idea complain that only tyrants and strongmen want military parades. But President Trump’s inspiration was the Bastille Day celebration and military parade he viewed in France – a Western nation with a democratically elected government that no one could accuse of being an oppressive military dictatorship.

Citizen Soldiers are ALL Soldiers of the US. In fact you should read )if you are capable of reading something besides Lefty propaganda, CITIZEN SOLDIERS by Stephen Ambrose. You just might learn a thing or two.

Naw. Just trying to save a buck. Tanks are not cost-effective to move around.

CBO says it costs the budget 2.6 billion a year just for these south American dreamers, that's $7 million a day, every day. How many tanks can you move around for just one day cost of illegal non citizen dreamers ?

“Naw. Just trying to save a buck. Tanks are not cost-effective to move around.”

Sometimes the monetary cost of something is overshadowed by the PR value.
Sometimes ya just gotta go WHOLE HOG.
A military parade is one of those times.

The leftist is non-stop against everything and anything in this administration. They're even 'against' when there's nothing there to protest against.

They've let us know the real reason..

Hillary Clinton ..... “if that f***ing bastard wins we all hang from nooses,”

you do realize the the phrase ‚warrior‘ is about as UnAmerican as it can be ?

Can we assume by this statement you have never heard the snap of a bullet past your head, seen a stream of tracers deceptively looking as they are floating towards you, heard the crump of a close grenade/mortar hit or felt the burn of a piece of hot metal heading for your innards while in combat in Americas service? If you have never been in 'actual' close combat, feeling the sphincter tugging effect of close calls knowing just how close you came to just not existing anymore. I would refrain from trying to frame or define for others how un-American a 'Warrior' is. Life is full of unmarried marriage counsellors, if you have truly walked this walk then hopefully you can feel American again if you were truly an actual Warrior.

„... In the 1940’s we were talking about our warriors....“

so wrong and so confused - only the national socialists and nips used those terms in the 1940s. We conspicuously avoided the term precisely because it was UnAmerican.

In the 1940s, warrior was a term of derision in the US. It was used to describe mindless automatons of a totalitarian state.

It’s actually tragic that many of us have lost their way in their thinking.

The parade NYC has been an ongoing event since 1919 in some form or fashion.
True it was about to crated and Trump has helped.

But what Trump wants in DC is more of a true military parade with the
troops, equipment, etc. Not just a bunch of people walking along the streets.
D.C. has some Veteran Day events but not a parade. Arlington National
Cemetery is recognized but a parade in DC would be nice for sure.

Democrats could have an Antifa parada and show off their baseball bats, rocks, urine filled bottles, etc.

America can finally take pride in a parade, which isn’t the common gay pride parades that must never be criticized even as naked men display lewd and lascivious behavior in front of the children.

This parade will demonstrate patriotic pride instead.
Even a poor country can afford to do this.

“...If you don’t feel appreciative, well fine. Pay your taxes on time and stay out of the way...”

you speak like a wolf not a sheepdog

sad that you don’t understand why

What is tragic is that you insist on trying to spoon=feed lies to people who weren’t there. I know what I am talking about. time for you to listen and LEARN what is correct.

It certainly would be nice to have our own Military parade. Having seen several Bastille Day parades in Paris, I know what President Trump is talking about. The cost would be minor compared to the benefits.

Voochie, it’s sad that to think that you don’t understand your own military people. I have had over 40 years working with and for our services - including 17 months in combat and I have learned first- hand that they are the best of all of us.

I have no idea what your background is, but how can you not celebrate the courage and sacrifices of our young people? Don’t you have anyone in your family or neighbors who served?

P.S: Sometimes your sheepdogs have to seem like wolves - much more effective.

chain,

I certainly celebrate heroism and feats of arms. BUT this parade thing is a sign of decline and smacks of desperation. It’s in bad taste for America.

If it was a pure vets parade honoring only vets from WWII, then Korea, then SEA, then Iraq I, then ....

I‘d be there in the front row .

See? You miss the most important message of the planned parade: these young people we have today have stepped into the shoes of the heroes of before. We have less than 2% of the eligible men and women volunteering for the hard and difficult and dangerous work needed to protect this country of ours and our allies.

We need to show our nation that we're proud of them and honor them.

We also need to show you - the taxpayers and the parents - that they are a good effective force for us.

The parade should be the first in an annual tradition to showcase our guys and gals and their competence - with a garnish of the new stuff they are trained to employ.

We have had generations of liberal/leftist leaders who have pushed our service people into the shadows, as if we should be ashamed of them. It's no wonder that we have had difficulty recruiting quality people sometimes. Why join and risk your life and certainly be inconvenienced for low pay if your country thinks that you're trash?

During the height of the Iraq War and then the Afghan War, I visited Walter Reed and Bethesda Hospitals and brought gifts to the badly wounded. They were and are good, solid Americans, the true successors of the heroes of the past. It's time that we bought them all out of the shadows and back into our hearts.

But for the units that do participate, it is a gigantic waste of time and effort. We used to absolutely hate stuff like thos because it plays havoc with training/maintenance schedules.

got to disagree - a massive victory parade down pennsylvania ave is fine once we win. local parades every year are also fine, but I am highly skeptical of this annual massive parade aping the Frogs 14.July. I’ll reserve judgement until DJT executes.

signed a DJT supporter back when 3/4 of FR wanted Ted Cruz :)
