He's talking a historical parade similar to the one he saw in France.
Tanks, jeeps....we've had those in our local Memorial Day Parade for years....to honor our soldiers.

We used to have an armored car, a couple Jeeps, and an Army Harley with sidecar in our 4th of July parade. They’ve fallen by the wayside, unfortunately, but the organizer does go out of her way to come up with a pile of convertibles for veterans to ride in. She’s awesome like that.
